You'll be able to resolve this by reviewing the first item on the FAQ for the Web Guide.

Empty rows with channel numbers in EPG

I'm trying out the plugin and it imported the xmltv file successfully, but I get a strange layout in the EPG. Each row of the imported file is shown with the correct programs, but it looks like it's combined with a blank file as well. The result is wherever there is an imported channel there is also another row with the same channel number but no programs. In addition, there are also blank rows (except for the channel number) for any channel number which was not imported.

I'm sure I'm making an obvious error, but I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

You'll need to go into the Web Admin (http://localhost:8129) and delete the lineup that was created by Beyond TV when you run the setup wizard (this is somewhere in "Advanced Settings" / "Channels")

Stéphane.

Re: [plugin] XMLTV Importer

Thanks! Fixed the problem. Now - is there any way to get channel logos? Or is this still a BeyondTV problem?

Re: [plugin] XMLTV Importer

Hi Stephane,

I'm having a problem where the correct listings are always an hour ahead. A 5 o'clock show is showing on the program guide at 6. I've tried changing the offset one hour ahead and one hour behind but the guide is still always one hour behind. Am I doing something wrong?

Regards,
Ch1ll1ng

In the Wizard mode when you are about to configure the time offset, look at the sample program and adjust offset and dst untill it shows ok.

Note : the DST check box must be checked wheter you are currently in DST or not. The check box only means that the Importer wants to know if your time zone does apply DST when it is needed (and as such the Importer will add/substract hours when it should).

Now generally speaking, take a look at your XMLTV file and you'll see the show air time, it ends or not with something like +0200 <= this tells that the air time in the XMLTV file has two hours added from UTC time. BTV needs the UTC time, so in this case you need to put -2 in the time offset settings of the Importer.

If you do not see any +XXXX or -XXXX then the time offset should be zero.

Also, check that your time zone is correctly setup in Windows, because that's BTV will use to go from the UTC time the Importer gives him to your local time.

Regards,
Stéphane.

Re: [plugin] XMLTV Importer

Hi Stephane,

I was still having problems because the program guide wouldnt take any updates from the xmltv importer. Through some searching in the Snapstream knowledge base, I found I should delete the snapstream folder in my profiles temp folder. For some reason this enabled BTV to accept the corrected XMLTV listings and updated the program guide. Thanks again!

Re: [plugin] XMLTV Importer

Hi Stephane,
I have a related but not identical problem to the one above.
I try to combine output of two grabbers, one taken from a local Belgian site, the other from an UK site. This way I should have a better description for the UK channels received in Belgium.
The local (Belgian) times are correct in the guide. The UK ones show up at the local UK time which is one hour earlier than Belgium time. This of course is wrong for me and needs correcting.
I cannot use the solution you gave (setting up the TZ shift in the importer) as that is a global parameter which would also act on my local info, which would then make it incorrect.
I tried to edit the XML file generated by the UK grabber and changed the TZ suffix "+000" to "+0100" hoping it would shift the UK programming by one hour.
It did not.
Do you have an idea how to implement a one hour time shift on one part of the XML file, or on specific channel numbers/names?
Thanks.
Avidav.

The XMLTV Importer can import more than one XMLTV file with it's own time offset setting. So instead of importing one XMLTV file with both BE and UK programs, import one BE XMLTV file and one UK XMLTV file.

If you use the classical UI instead of the Import Wizard, you'll see that you can create more than one XMLTV source, and for each of them you have the time offset setting.

Other than using separate XMLTV file, it's not possible to change the time offset the way you want.

Regards,
Stéphane.

Re: [plugin] XMLTV Importer

Stephane,
I have the donor unattended version. Can that version import, in unattended mode, two different xml files each with a different TZ? How would that be done?
Thanks.
Avidav.

Yes it can. It's no different in the donator version : just click on the "+" button in the classical interface to add another XMLTV file and configure it like you may have done for the first one.

Regards,
Stéphane.

Re: [plugin] XMLTV Importer

Stephane,
I'm missing something here, and I apologize for being thick.
There are two fields in the configuration screen, one called XMLTV Source, the other XMLTV File.
I added the additional "source" file as a second entry to the XMLTV Source field; I now have the two files in the drop-down box.
However in the XMLTV File field there is no way to add a second file.
So what is the difference between these two fields? Because I feel that the importer uses the File field and not the Source field as the input.
Thanks for clarifying this for me.
Avidav.
