HD recordings in Progressive instead of Interlaced

I'm going to flounder around a little on this, so bare with me..

My (2) Hauppauge 1600 cards were recording HD/Digital shows at one time, before my system died, Interlaced and 30fps (.TP extention). I had to replace the motherboard and to setup BeyondTV from scratch. Now it's recording in Progressive and 60fps for HD/Digital channels (still .TP extention). Is there something I did wrong when setting it up the 2nd time to make it record progressive and 60fps?

I'm using a program called ConvertX2DVD to burn my recordings to DVD (with Menus and such). I was able to burn HD/Digital recordings (.TP files) to dvd successfully before the reload, but then after my system died and I had to replace the motherboard and reload BeyondTV, but it's now recording at progressive and 60fps.

ConvertX has an issue with 60fps. If the FPS is 60, it'll drop 50% of the frames, so the video is choppy. It's a known issue, hopefully they'll fix it on the next version... but I checked some of the previous recordings I made but the motherboard died and found HD/Digital recordings were 30fps and interlaced.

So, the question is.. Can I make BeyondTV record HD/Digital channels in 30fps and interlaced?

Re: HD recordings in Progressive instead of Interlaced

All conversions set aside:
60fps progressive > 30fps interlaced

Like I stated, setting the conversion aside, I'd be happy with the increase in quality.

Re: HD recordings in Progressive instead of Interlaced

Problem is I can't burn them to DVD using the ConvertX program.

Any way to set it up to Interlaced?

Re: HD recordings in Progressive instead of Interlaced

There is no option for progressive or interlaced (or anything else) when recording QAM or ATSC. Beyond TV is simply capturing the stream as broadcast.

Some channels broadcast 720p, others broadcast 1080i.

You did not incorrectly configure anything.

Re: HD recordings in Progressive instead of Interlaced

How was it the recordings previous to me changing out the motherboard and reloading the OS (hence reloading BeyondTV too) I was recording them in Interlaced?

Does the "p" at the end mean progressive and the "i" at the end mean Interlaced??
