recording format, Only one choice?

Hello when I go to settings and select recording settings, then recording format I only have one choice MPEG2 transport stream.
I would think there would be other options. I am able to change the padding no problem but only I only have the one choice for the format.
I have been using the search function here and have been looking on and off for a couple of days but am unable to find a solution.

Re: recording format, Only one choice?

Are you recording OTA? Then yes, you only have MPEG2. In layman's terms, you're basically just downloading the program from the airwaves = it's dumping the show directly to the harddrive - no option to change the format.

Re: recording format, Only one choice?

That's a good analogy. You're basically just downloading the digital data in real time via a wireless transmission.

Re: recording format, Only one choice?

Actually I am recording clear QAM cable. Or at least wanting to LMAO. Where do the recordings go? as I can't access the advanced settings I can't get much info.
I only get the message "locolhost" is not set up to establish a connection on port "8129" with computer I opened this port on the router and shut down NOD32 network filtering etc... any ideas and do you know the default directory for recorded shows?

Re: recording format, Only one choice?

The default folder is in the BTV directory on your C: drive. If you want to change it, open Web Admin (right click on the BTV icon in the tray and select advanced settings).

You might want to start here SnapStream Help

If you want to change the format after you have recorded the QAM file, you can do so with show squeeze. It is all in the helpfile.
