Re: Guide data unavailable - AGAIN!!!
That's one thing that I have never agreed with regarding BeyondTV. Snapstream gets the guide data from a 3rd party (Zap2It, I believe...) and then hosts those guides on their own servers. When BTV calls for a guide update, it reaches out to the SS servers. This is leaving two points of failure - the first being the link between Zap2It and SS, and the second being the link between SS and your server.
BTV and SS need to move away from this method and use a single point of update. Why not have Beyond connect directly to the Zap2It servers? SageTV does this VERY well, and I have never missed anything because I didn't have guide data.
