help, process 2480 not running??

Hello to anyone that reads this.
To make this as short as possible, I installed the web administrators update.
now when i trry to run vlc it looks like its trying to run(it fires up on server)
but nevershows on client?? the screen shows its streaming at 1275 kbps and audio at 62kbps at a screen size of 480x360 but never shows anything??
then of corse I stop stream and refresh and then i get the process 2480 not running??
am i looking in the right place for the problem or should i be looking somewhere else??
any help would be helpful.

Try making your description not "as short as possible" and using as much detail as possible instead. As is, I have no idea what you are talking about and I bet others willing to help might feel the same.

ok here goes again!!
I've tryed to respond to my origional question but keep getting kicked off!!
as for the full version.
i have my full family using my btv to record there shows and then downloading them when
ready to watch them. I was browsing the forums latly and saw the community web admin 4.8.2 and thought that would be perfect(streaming with vlc on server)!!
so off i went and changed the files that ccarlin give me to.
well now i get to a screen that says its streaming at 1275kbs and audio at 62kbs at a screen size of 368x480 but nothing ever shows up andd then i tell it to stop streaming and thats when i get the error 2480 not running??
also when i try to change settings settings>advanced settings>misc settings I get an compilation error??
where should i start to check ,the logs all look fine but then i do certain things they just dont work??
any help would be fantistic.
