access video from iphone

ok, so btv has support for it's own web site, and the iphone has support for youtube videos.

I am by NO means a programmer. I simply dropped in the code required for youtube videos which I found on a forum into a html file, then I added a link to the About section of the Beyond TV 4 web admininstrator.

After you replace About.aspx and insert youtube.html, click the web administrator window and check out the "about" link You will see"

"Portions utilize Microsoft Windows Media Technologies.
Copyright (c) 1992-2002 Microsoft Corporation. All Rights Reserved."

under that you will see a link that will bring you to a blank page with a youtube video.

I can watch the linked youtube video from my iPhone. I'm wondering if it's possible to use this Youtube player to play files on the local disk. I can't figure out the formatting.

Attached are the files I used. Drop them in the BeyondTV/wwwroot folder Can someone help me with it?
Attached Files
File Type: zip youtube.zip (1.5 KB, 6 views)

Re: access video from iphone

In order to accomplish what you are doing, you would need to create a method that transcodes video into flash format. To be honest if you aren't a programmer type, then just install Orb on your BTV machine and use that to stream to your iphone.

You should always review your BTV Log if you have issues.

If you thought Orb worked well then you have to try Air Video. Orb is good if you want to watch TV. But the quality really sucks even on high. I use this and it is freaking awesome.

About Air Video

It costs some money but it is way better quality. Orb always seams to make the server go to 100 percent when I am recording a lot of shows. I think it is trying to access the shows as they are being recorded. Seriously. I deleted orb off my system after using this other software. Orb gives you problems.
