Hello, I am trying to make my entire media setup work together. Let me explain what I have going on because it used to be simple, however now I am trying to figure out the best way to do everything and make everything work together
My PC is a dual screen monitor setup. I used to watch BTV on one monitor and use the computer on the other. It was hooked up to my 5.1 surround system and everything worked great. When I wanted to use my xbox to run xbox media center, I'd change BTV to the xbox channel and it worked great. I have expanded my home setup quite a bit. I use my BTV as a DVR now instead of watching live TV from it. I now have a iPhone, Chipped XBOX 1 with xbox media center for XBOX (as opposed to the PC version), 2 laptops, as well as the origonal PC. I watch live TV on the real TV. Currently, I am using windows file sharing to watch recordings. Here is a picture of my network as it stands now. http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/f...ed/homenet.jpg I would like to be able to access live TV from my XBOX, iPhone, and Laptops. I would also like to be able to view all recordings in a more user friendly way then file sharing. Is there a better way? I'm a very technical guy, however, my girlfriend would like to be able to just turn things on and have them work with a front door interface.

Re: Beyond tv, XBMC on xbox, Iphone, 2 laptops
Assuming your laptops are running Windows - you can use Beyond TV Link software to view live TV.
As far as the XBOX and iPhone, to my knowledge, there is no way to stream live TV from Beyond TV. With the iPhone you should be able to setup ShowSqueeze and the iTunes integration to make easily copy and watch your recorded shows.

Re: Beyond tv, XBMC on xbox, Iphone, 2 laptops
The xbox is chipped and running XBMC (xbox media center). This is a very powerful program which allows media access of most types.
I've heard there is a MMS://computer.ip.address:8080 port set up by BTV. I just cannot get it to work. Is this true information? Is there a port which can be accessed from windows media player? I can set up XBMC on my XBOX to start viewing a television program as soon as it begins recording and it will continue viewing that program until the program stops, at which point it returns me back to the shared "shows" folder on my computer. Is there a way I can set up BTV to record everything it processes so that it can be viewed? Where is the file that is used for rewinding live TV? If I can access that file, then I should be able to link to that file from XBMC and effectively stream live/ live-delayed TV. Now, taking that idea just one step further, the new version of the iPhone supports streaming video from YouTube and other sites which use the same viewer. I just click on the video while I am viewing any old website and the iPhone goes full-screen. So it may be possible to set up the BTV recordings in a web browser to be viewed on the iPhone. So far I've made this progress as far as integration: Iphone or any other device can control BeyondTV as the firefly would by accessing the following website: http://beyond.TV.computer.IP:8129/remote/sendInput.aspx Iphone or any other device can control XBMC for XBOX's by accessing the following website after enabling the http controler in XBMC: Http://XBMC.XBOX.IP.Address:80/default.asp I can't figure out how to stream live tv to any computer using the information that "works" for other people. BeyondTV Link isn't required is it?

Re: Beyond tv, XBMC on xbox, Iphone, 2 laptops
I run XBMC also and watch them in the same manner as you do - through a file share.
Unfortunately I don't have any idea on how to stream live TV to it....

Re: Beyond tv, XBMC on xbox, Iphone, 2 laptops
it seems that it should be possible, where is the file for rewinding live tv kept?

Re: Beyond tv, XBMC on xbox, Iphone, 2 laptops
It is kept in your recording folder as I recall.
1) I think you would need to disable the slices for the live TV buffer, so there is only one file 2) I am unsure if XMBMC would be compatible with the file being a circular buffer\ Cant hurt to try.

Re: Beyond tv, XBMC on xbox, Iphone, 2 laptops
Yea - I think it's kept in the same folder, with the same naming convention as your other recorded shows. Just start watching Live TV and watch your recording directory and the file size will continue to grow.

Re: Beyond tv, XBMC on xbox, Iphone, 2 laptops
^^ Ok, thanks! Maybe I can figure something out with that. I will try when I get home tonight. I havn't opened up the firewall to be accessable from other locations yet.
is there a method of streaming to computers other then BeyondTV Link? I think streaming to the iPhone is not going to work as of yet. However, as for watching videos on my iPhone, I need to get files to play from webstreams, I think it will be possible. Does anyone know of a way that I can use a 3rd party encoder, make a script run after a recording finishes, or set up a web page on a share drive which would display all videos in the same format as youtube would?
