Setup for my TV

Hey all,

Yes I am coming to the game late. I have been using Beyond TV for many years, but never to its full potential. Mostly it has hung out in the basement recording shows, that then get pulled into itunes and either watched on my comp or iphone.

But I finally upgraded my 11 year old TV with a nice new HDTV. Now I wanna move my beyond TV to where it belongs.

Mostly I am curious if there is a good motherboard or video card that does HDMI for video and audio. Does anything exist? I haven't had much luck looking.

And specifically something that would work well with BTV

thanks

Something with an AMD 690G or 780G should do a decent job and be quite inexpensive, even with the integrated graphics, I think. If you care about H.264 video, then I guess that rules out the 690G's integrated graphics.

There may be some quirks with the HDMI audio to watch out for though, as well as the order of powering stuff on (e.g. if you power on the TV after powering on the computer, HDMI might not be happy, though once the computer is on, turning the TV off/on is OK).

Bigbird,

This would be a new PC. Hence the question if there is a motherboard with HDMI video/audio out built in. Otherwise an add in card.

As far as the PC goes tho, Something small. I would prefer to just put my BTV in my entertainment cabinet. It doesn't have to be tiny, but a full tower wouldnt work either.

TV is a Samsung LN37B550. 1080p, 4HDMI inputs (2 currently in use)

A 780G mobo Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GA-MA78G-DS3H AM2+/AM2 AMD 780G HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard - AMD Motherboards will do fine. What is your TV source (OTA, cable)? What tuners do you have?

Unfortunately Newegg has that mobo as "deactivated"

Currently I am just running a single USB 950Q. My source is OTA. The funny irony I guess is I upgraded all of my gear so I could cancel my cable service...
