Question Move ALL of Beyond TV to another drive

I unfortunately have one of the early SSD drives as my c: drive. Unfortunate because the write speed suffers. I've moved everything else that is write intensive off the drive, but want to know how to move Beyond TV off of c:. Specifically the area under Documents and Settings where Beyond TV stores its data, including the program guide.

Each day when the program guide update occurs, it takes HOURS to complete.

I tried changing c:\ to f:\ in the various .xml files and in the registry. I also renamed the old Beyond TV folder under Documents and Settings. However, Beyond TV just created a new directory upon load and wanted me to go through setup again.

How can I move the program guide data to a drive other than c:?

You are begging for trouble. You will encounter problems that you can never be sure of the cause. Been There. Done That.

You can change your registry so that everything points to a new drive. You can get registry editors do do this globally. It is not worth the hassle you will be causing yourself. BTV is happiest when everything is in the proper place.

Bite the bullet and replace the drive and/or computer. Spend your spare time doing something constructive.

Re: Move ALL of Beyond TV to another drive

I don't know what BTV requires or forces on C, but maybe try backing up BTV from the "About" dialog, uninstalling, reinstall to F, and restore the BTV backup. You may want to undo any hacks you tried first, and keep in mind the BTV backup/restore process must be done with the same BTV version. Archived installers are available here if needed.
