automate adding series information

I am wanting to automate adding series information to shows that are added to the beyond tv video folder I have setup on the local drive. Basically I have shows that I download from a legal source from my home country KuduClub.com : South African TV, South African Culture and I want to be able to run a script that adds the information to beyond tv based on the title of the video file. Any ideas?

Re: automate adding series information

Check the development area for BTVSHOWINFO and the supporting programs to go with it. TMAR is working on a front end to this that may help. Although it is not a script, it's very close to being complete.

Re: automate adding series information

The info first must be in Online TV Database - An open directory of television shows for HTPC software. Then the program pulls the info using BTVShowInfo.

Re: automate adding series information

If it's repeating and don't wish to import the lineup, you can always schedule manually like the good old VCRs.
Open your Snapstream, then go to setup a new recording, and record by time and channel.

Re: automate adding series information

Thanks everyone for your help. I am wanting to script this to automate this, are there command line options?

It is difficult to automate this because it more likely than not will require user input in case of multiple selections (ie. CSI series names). Also, BTVShowInfo is a standalone program that requires user input so it can't be automated. The only way is to have a BTV standalone plugin for this task.
