BTV as a service (or at least autostart w/o login)
In the last couple of weeks I've had my BTV PC reboot spontaneously. In the most recent case, I was using the BTV I/F when the machine blue-screened. It auto-rebooted, but sat at the CTRL-ALT-DEL login prompt, with BTV *not* running, so no shows were being auto-recorded.
Is there some way to get BTV to run as service? Or at least auto-start w/o a user logged in? I just want to program to auto-start and run (record) if the machine reboots (reboot, power blackout > UPS, etc.) and starts up when I'm not around to log in. |

Re: BTV as a service (or at least autostart w/o login)
Interesting a tech would post an unsupported feature as a response instead of going for the simple and supported method of auto login. It's also probably good to read the first line of the last paragraph: "Running Beyond TV in service mode is unsupported by SnapStream Media." That is your cue it wont work well and don't bother asking for help from SS (I know from personal experience).
It's much easy to simply setup auto login. You don't say what OS your are using, but of XP: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/u...ips/knox2.mspx

Running BTV as a service...but whats the best way to display tuner status now? Did anyone ever develop an rss feed with tuner status that I could load in media portal?
