16:9 aspect ratio is wrong?

Just realized I posted this in the wrong forum...can it be moved?

I'm recording QAM TV at 1920x1080 (16:9), and watching it on a computer monitor at 1440x900 (16:10).

When I set the aspect ratio to "Stretch", I get a 16:10 aspect ratio, but when I set it to 16:9, I get a 4:3 aspect ratio (4:3 gives me something MUCH smaller than 4:3).

VLC plays the files with the RIGHT aspect ratios, with the same options (16:9 adds black bars to the top and bottom).

Anyway, here's some screenshots: (I've reduced them)

How can I get the BTV 16:9 aspect ratio to look like the VLC one, instead of the 4:3 ratio on VLC?

Not sure what the official reason would be, but I gave up on beyond tv's default aspect ratio's along time ago.

I would suggest fiddling with X:<docs n settings>\All Users\Snapstream\BeyondTV\CustomSettings.xml.

You will see aspect ration options there. Edit existing options, remove any you never use, create your own...

Well, I've tried that, but BTV doesn't seem to do the aspect ratios right.

I'm still confused as to why 16:9 in BTV looks like 4:3 in VLC.

Go to Settings -> Playback settings and change the setting of Non-square pixel compensation. That might help you with your problem.
