Program guide and IE 8

I am currenlty running IE 8 but I am unable to view the program guide from the web admin. Is there anything that can be done to get this access back with out downgrading my IE, or using another broswer?

Re: Program guide and IE 8

I am also using IE8. I also had problems with the Program Guide page. It would display the grid, but I could not get any program detail to show in the right-hand panel. The cure is to tell IE8 to use compatibility mode. Click on the little icon next to the URL that looks like a page of paper that is torn in two. You can also tell IE8 to always use compatibility mode for a particular site.

IE8 also broke the "search on this page" feature of my Google Toolbar, which is a big loss for me. I don't have a cure for that, yet.

Re: Program guide and IE 8

No offense, but what Microsoft product has worked well before the first service pack?

My suggestion is to use Firefox. Less risky, better browser.

Re: Program guide and IE 8

I read an article on few days ago about how IE8 actually lost market share... it was up to like 2.5%, then a week later 1.8% or something... basically cuz people tried it, then quit using it cuz of problems with a lotta websites that worked fine in their previous browser.

I'm running the firefox 3.1beta and no problems.... But there are still a couple things in IE7 that FF doesnt have... the two I noticed are zoom and user defined search sites... but giving up adblock & security isn't worth those features... at least ff 3.1 gives me back the ability to open a second tab w/o using keyboard or menu bar that ff 3.0x can't do (unless youv'e already opened and closed it).

IE has adblocking through the plugin IE7Pro.

I had the same problem after upgrading to Internet Explorer 8 today (Microsoft has now started pushing IE8 via Automatic Updates, so more people will be installing the upgrade now.)

I tried compatibility mode and had the same issue as mksennett.

I was running BTV 4.9.0 (build 6073) on Win XP SP3.

I saw one of the users in this thread running 4.9.1. I didn't know there was an update from 4.9.0. Usually I get an email annoucing an upgrade and/or BTV would alert me to an upgrade being available.

Anyway... I installed BTV v4.9.1 (build 6192) and now the Program Guide works fine!

Phew!
