Suddenly, I have QAM!

While trying to resolve the PVR-150 not working with over 4 gigs of ram issue (good luck on that one), I ran across some drivers on the Hauppauge ftp site in the HVR1600 subfolder called "test." They are labeled "Islandia_1.62.26183", which are just a bit newer than what is available from their home site.

I installed them, and to my amazement, I now have 20 QAM channels!

I had tried both Hauppauge's driver offering from their home page, and the Windows Update driver, but could not get QAM on either BTV or VMC.
Either my cable company just happened to turn on the QAM, or this driver worked a treat!

I meant to put this in the user-to-user forum, so moderator please move the post at your leisure.

Re: Suddenly, I have QAM!

If you bypass your BTV and use your HD ready TV, do you get QAM there too?

Re: Suddenly, I have QAM!

We don't have one yet, so I couldn't have tested it to be sure it was there or not. I guess we're not living the American dream.
