GX620 USFF and VGA issue

Just got a new 52 inch LCD. It's a Samsung LN52A650. I have a GX620 USFF hooked up to it. The OTA HD looks great. Kind of as aspected the analog cable not so much. Anyway, I have it hooked up with a DVI to HDMI cable. I have read the PC input is good on the Samsungs so I got a VGA cable. It works but I noticed some flicker or almost like intermittent scrolling due to frequency or something. Any ideas on how to solve it? Maybe a cheap cable? For those of you using the USFF do you use the dell supplied DVI to VGA and then go VGA to TV or do you have a DVI to VGA cable straight to the TV. The DVI to HDMI doesn't have the issue at all.

I just wanted to try it out because I have noticed on my two link boxes with two different video cards but same GMA950 chipset that analog cable looks worse than cable straight to the TV and also looks worse than my 7600GS on the server in my opinion.

Re: GX620 USFF and VGA issue

I have a 46" 1080p samsung connected via VGA. no flicker of any kind. Works flawlessly. Could be a lousy cable.

I've used both the Dell DVI-VGA splitter cable and a generic DVI->VGA dongle. No difference.

Not sure what your challenge is!

Re: GX620 USFF and VGA issue

Have you went DVI to HDMI? Which did you prefer? It is hard to describe. It almost looks like scan lines when people record a crt computer monitor on film but not as bad. It isn't as constant. Just a little here or there. I didn't notice much when watching tv. Mostly when looking at the blue viewscape.

Thanks.

Re: GX620 USFF and VGA issue

I've never tried that with the USFF. Just VGA.
