Re: Where is Divx found?
Depending on your capture card, you probably can't RECORD with DivX, but after recording, you can compress the program using Beyond TV's Showsqueeze function. That's pretty well documented in the help file (http://www.snapstream.com/support/be...ile/index.html), so I won't go into it here. But the video format(s) that you can record in are determined by your capture card. Most default to MPEG2.

Re: Where is Divx found?
Not for initial recording... for archiving under ShowSqueeze... that's what I wanted to test it for.
For some reason, yesterday I got a message on the Viewscape screen that said my trial was over... after just 4 days. I posted this but no one has replied as to what happened to it. Reading the help section you linked to shows me access to Divx is via that Viewscape screen. I remember seeing it there prior. I can still access BTV through the Advaced Settings in the system tray but I cannot record anything. I get an error if I set up a recording. The Divx codec does not show up there with the other Video Quality settings. So here I sit. I cannot test BVT any further.

Re: Where is Divx found?
It's understandable that no one replied to your comment about the early expiration of your trial version. These really aren't vendor troubleshooting forums - they're user forums, and no one here can help you with what is essentially a licensing issue. I'd submit a pre-sales support ticket (http://www.snapstream.com/contact/) and tell them about this. Maybe they can re-activate the trial license for you. Either that, or maybe you can rebuild the box with a fresh install of the OS and BTV.
FWIW, that kind of problem is definitely not the norm. *Most* users here have had a pretty positive experience with BTV, to include their trial period. I can tell you that BTV is waaaay more functional and reliable than some of the other HTPC solutions that I've used. You get what you pay for. And re: DivX, you've now seen it for yourself: the video qualities in the recording settings will not allow you to select DivX if your capture card does not have native support for it. (For example, the Hauppauge PVR-500 will only capture DVD-resolution MPEG2.) Any other video qualities that are offered/supported by BTV will be converted to via the Showsqueeze function.
