Firefly wake up?

Not sure if this has been discussed before, but if it is not currently possible (I have not been able to do it) get the Firefly remote to wake the HTPC from standby, would it not be relatively easy for SS to add that feature?

Re: Firefly wake up?

Yes, it can be done, but it's nothing that BTV would control. Your MB BIOS probably has settings to wake the system from the keyboard/mouse or from a USB device. Enable one or the other and try it, and if that doesn't work then enable the other. If that doesn't work, then enable both. If that doesn't work, then abandon all hope....

I use the keyboard to wake the system and it is a USB keyboard.

Not sure if I have a different "USB wake" setting.

Seems like it would be a function of the Firefly driver that might be implemented, making it work like the keyboard.

Re: Firefly wake up?

The remotes would have to be recognized as a USB keyboard or mouse by windows or have a driver with a wake function enabled in windows. I tried in vain to do this with my AIW remote, even though it is a mouse remote, the driver does not give me the option to wake from standby. I keep a wireless keyboard nearby for that, I can also wake through my pda ove the wifi connection by sending a magic packet.

Oh when oh when will someone make an rf remote with wifi/bluetooth capability (under $50)

Re: Firefly wake up?

If SS has the source for the Firefly driver, it should be a simple matter to insert the code which wakes the computer.
