Community auto recordings options
I subscribe to the Community Recordings feature with BTV. I like to see what others are watching and it has introduced me to some new shows that I ultimately liked and set up for normal recording. I probably would have otherwise missed them entirely.
During it's initial setup before going public I asked if it could be set up so you could select any particular "auto" recording and tell it to NEVER suggest that show again. I got tired of checking it every day and deleting the same shows over and over.
To my delight we have been given that option (Never record this program). However, what I didn't think about were the few times where I might not want to record just THAT specific show, but still wanted to be informed via the community for possible new stuff down the road.
I've found a way to get around that. Now I can either say, "don't ever record this show", OR just stop that one instance of that show from being recorded.
Of course (at the risk of making a menu too busy) SS could offer both options from the beginning. Like:
1. Never record this show.
2. Don't record this one instance.
Here's how.
In the Recording Settings under "Priorities" you will see the community based auto recordings at the bottom of the priority list. If you don't ever want to be notified again, just select the recording and choose to never record this show.
However to only stop that one instance and keep that show available for the community recordings notices, from that priority recordings page choose the show in question and select "Show upcoming episodes". In that page you will see the show in question and if you click on it ... you can then choose to "Do not record this episode at this time".
I believe that will result in ONLY that recording (and not future auto finds) being not recorded.
At the risk of making a "too busy menu" maybe SS could offer both options from the first page. Ie. like:
1. Never record this show
2. Don't record just this episode.
