Using ffdshow as post-processor ?

Hi,

Is it possible to use ffdshow as a post-processor for ATSC HD playback (both Live TV and recordings)? I would like to use this to improve the picture quality.

Is this possible to do? I would really really like to use this so that the HDTV picture does not look so washed. for those of you who have used ffdshow for subtitles - how did you do it?
