BTV MCE HP IRBlaster Vista

I have recently installed BTV 4.8 and am trying to get the IR Blaster to change my STB channels (without success). Here is my situation. The TV works great--I just have to change the channel with the STB remote itself. Windows Vista Ultimate w/SP1. Machine is HP m8120n which came with IR Blaster for MCE. Device Mgr shows eHome USBCIR. What I would like to do is just use BTV and forget about MCE altogether. I would rather not purchase another IR Blaster if I can get this one to work with BTV...it works fine for MCE. STB is Scientific Atlanta Explorer 3250HD from TWC-Honolulu. The HP machine came with its own remote and I also have a Hauppauge Silver remote that came with my WinTV USB2 PVR that I had purchased for a previous XP home built machine. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Bill.....with too many remotes.....

You need a third party software like mine (see signature) to use the MCE IR Blaster with BTV.
