How about an x64 version of BeyondTV?

It would be great to have something capable of taking full advantage of the 64 bit version of Vista I just installed on my DVR box. How much work would be involved with doing this-- would it primarily be a matter of recompiling and then thoroughly testing the app, or is there something more involved here?

Re: How about an x64 version of BeyondTV?

Personally I am running Windows 2003 Server 64bit and BTV works great with it as a 32 bit app.

I guess I could use the 32bit version since it still can address beyond 3gigs of ram but I wanted the "cool" factor.

I am also interested in this since 2-3 GB memory is just not enough for my work. Is vista ultimate 64-bit officially supported by BTV?

I'm running BTV Link in Vista Ultimate x64 without any issues. The only problem I can foresee at this time is finding drivers for the capture cards. I put my extra PVR-250 in this machine and found Hauppauge doesn't have a driver for Vista x64. Although they do for the 150, 350 and the 500.

They have drivers for the 350 in 64bit?? Last time I checked they didn't have it available forcing me to buy another 1600.

I thought they did. I may be mistaken.

Re: How about an x64 version of BeyondTV?

I have a new build running for 2 days so far in x64 Ultimate. However, I have 4MB [Edit: sorry 4GB] RAM and the only way I could get the PVR-500 to work is by resticting vista to 3.2GB (3277MB) ... else the tuners would not work. The drivers install fine.. just they wont get any video. I have posted a ticket to Hauppauge regarding this.

Re: How about an x64 version of BeyondTV?

I just finished my vista ultimate 64 bit install. Im trying to get link to work. I can connect to the btv server, go thru the menus select a channel or a recording to watch. The problem is there is no video or audio.

has anyone seen this and how did you correct it?

4MB of RAM? I had more RAM in my 486 DX-66 nearly 15 years ago!

Check out Hauppauge's website for beta drivers. This was an issue with the 1600 and 1800 as well, but is currently fixed with the latest beta driver set.
