BTV 4.8, HVR-1800, corrupted recordings (timestamp error)

I’m at my wits-end! Nearly every recording requires timestamp repair. I even wiped the hard drive, and then reinstalled Vista and latest drivers without any success. I also tried adding the registry keys I saw in another thread. Outside of dumping my HVR-1800, are there any other options? I built the computer only a few months ago with all new hardware.
