Hauppauge HD PVR

What is the BTV support for this box? I have one on order (who knows when it will arrive), but don't know if BTV will support it.

Finally being able to record from component is cool!

Re: Hauppauge HD PVR

And I believe I've read them all, including the blog, but can't find a definitive statement that 4.8.1 supports it.

Re: Hauppauge HD PVR

I believe what tscales is trying to ask is if there any news on this front. If he's read all the threads (there aren't that many, TBH), he already knows that BTV doesn't at the moment, but in light of the aforementioned blog entry that shows a working prototype in the lab, it seems support might be imminent.

As I said, I haven't seen an overwhelming amount of threads on this topic here. That being said, the fact that they have one in the lab (and that no one who's ordered one has actually received it as of yet) would tend to keep hopeful early adopters from posting.

I have one on order, too.

Re: Hauppauge HD PVR

I guess I'm "missing the boat" on this one. If BTV doesn't support it(Kilrsat said 'No'), then why is anyone purchasing this product? I'm confused.

Re: Hauppauge HD PVR

Early adopters are already members of the beta program, but there isn't a current public beta.

Re: Hauppauge HD PVR

Both HD-DVR and QAM are on the todo list... the when is up in the air.

I'm definitely going to buy the HD-DVR, and since Snapstream has demonstrated they are working on support, I'm definitely going to stick with BeyondTV. I can wait a few months if need be, I mean I've waited this long... what's a little bit longer.

Re: Hauppauge HD PVR

and i bought an HDHR before there was any support and worked with Fonceur to get a plug-in working, so i was recording QAM for many months before BTV support arrived..............it all depends on your tolerance for pain if you want to live at the (b)leading edge.......sometimes i do (QAM was that important to me, as is component recording with the hd-pvr) and sometimes i don't care at all

Re: Hauppauge HD PVR

I have purchased and installed the ATI Theater 650 PCIe card. It has capability for Clear QAM HD recordings. I also have 2x HDHomeRuns. Do you think SnapStream will ever support the ATI or Hauppage Clear QAM cards?
