Using Recording Pool No Longer get Red Recording indicator

This is a strange one. I just added a large drive to my NAS and set BTV to use that drive as part of the recording pool. Before I did this the only drive used for recording was an internal SATA drive. Whenever a program was recording it always showed in Upcoming Recordings with a Red recording indicator light as well as next to the actual show that was recording in the Recorded Shows view.

Now, the red indicator light no longer shows on the actual show that is recording. It does show up in the corner of the Viewscape screen (which is good thing, I guess).

Anyone else experience this?

Re: Using Recording Pool No Longer get Red Recording indicator

i have had this happen once..i added a 500gb drive to my pool the other day, but i think the issue preceded me adding that drive. first time i ever saw it (i'm using btv 4.8) i noticed a show was recording by the file size changing, but no record light..so i shut down the recording, restarted it..and the record light came on. so the show had 2 chunks, but everything worked fine. first and only time i've had this..is your problem continuous and what version of btv?

Re: Using Recording Pool No Longer get Red Recording indicator

I'm using 4.8.1 but to be honest, I don't remember if I rebooted my BTV Server or not. Probably not since adding to the recording pool doesn't require a reboot. That's a good thing to try. I'll give it a shot. Thanks!

Re: Using Recording Pool No Longer get Red Recording indicator

Tenax,

No luck. Your suggestion was a good one but I rebooted my BTV Server and the Red Recording indicator light still doesn't show up next to the actual show that is recording under the Recorded Shows view.

It does show up on the Upcoming Recording view as well as the lower right hand corner of the Viewscape Screen.

If anyone knows a solution, I'd be happy to try it. Thanks!

Re: Using Recording Pool No Longer get Red Recording indicator

Does the Red dot show up on the program guide screen on the show being recorded as well as the bottom right (mine does)? In the recorded shows view does the show appear with an N beside it (indicating new) as it is being recorded (mine does as well as having the red dot)?

You might try deleting and recreating your pool, but that will mark all of your recordings as new. Also there used to be some issues with BTV recording to NAS, I am not sure if they were totally resolved.

Re: Using Recording Pool No Longer get Red Recording indicator

The only place the red indicator doesn't show up is in the Recorded Shows view next to the actual show that is currently recording.

I'll search for NAS in the forum to see if there is something I can do. Thanks for the suggestion

Re: Using Recording Pool No Longer get Red Recording indicator

take the NAS out of the pool and see how it operates with a pool that only consists of the internal sata drive

Re: Using Recording Pool No Longer get Red Recording indicator

Thanks for the suggestion but before I added the NAS drive, this was my standard environment and the RED recording indicator was present next to the show currently recording in the Recorded Shows view. As a matter of fact, if more than one show was recording, I saw the indicator for each and every show.

This only started once I added the NAS drive to my recording pool.

Re: Using Recording Pool No Longer get Red Recording indicator

I had this happen when I selected a show to remote record on SS.net and my guide on the BTV server hadn't updated to have the show in it's guide. Once I delete the show all the indicators came back.

Another thing it could be is if you applied a custom skin to BTV and delete the some of the graphics which were not included in the custom skin.

Perhaps??

Re: Using Recording Pool No Longer get Red Recording indicator

Hi,

Thanks for the response. I did have a new skin at one time but reverted back to the default BTV skin. As I said, everything was working fine until I added the NAS drive to the recording pool. Since that drive has more space than the internal drive, BTV uses that for recordings.

It's not a big deal. I was hoping that someone might have a quick solution to a strage problem.
