Dual ATSC Tuner card supported?

Hi all,

Is there a dual ATSC tuner that works with BTV? I don't have an ATSC card yet and am thinking about getting one, especially if I can watch/record more than one channel at a time. (I do not want to purchase two cards)

Thanks. Mike

Check out the highly recommended, highly popular HDHomerun.

Re: Dual ATSC Tuner card supported?

I used a VBOX Cat's Eye 164e for several months in my machine at home.

Right now, I'm evaluating a Dvico Fusion 7 Dual Express in that same machine.

Re: Dual ATSC Tuner card supported?

Kilrsat,

Do you have any information to offer regarding your evaluation of the Dvico Fusion 7 Dual Express? I'm really interested in this card since I'm tired of waiting on the Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-2250 (which won't be available until June, I think). Does it work with BTV and how well does it work? BTW, here is a link to purchase one of these cards for $139.00.

Re: Dual ATSC Tuner card supported?

So far it has performed really well. It offers noticeably better ATSC reception than the Vbox.

I haven't had a chance to look at the analog capabilities of it yet. It is a software card, so I'm not expecting much but I just don't use analog often/ever at home.

Is there a reason you don't want to use more than one card? There are many inexpensive USB and PCI cards available, and two of those will probably be less expensive than a dual-tuner product. My system has two PCI tuners - one ATSC and one SD - and three USB ATSC tuners. Not much CPU power is required since ATSC programs are recorded straight to the hard drive without any processing.

Re: Dual ATSC Tuner card supported?

Any more info on that Dvico Fusion 7 Dual Express? Anyone else using it? Any positive/negative vibes so far? Appears that this is a brand new device and even the Dvico main web site products list does not show it yet. With the planned demise of analog over the air TV in February, I'm already looking for something to replace my analog tuner card. I'm already running two Dvico USB 5's and they perform quite well. Since I'll be pulling the analog card from the computer I'm thinking that a dual ATSC tuner card would the be way to go to fill up that one empty slot.

Re: Dual ATSC Tuner card supported?

Just to add to your list of options for a dual ATSC/NTSC/QAM tuner, the Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-2250 is supposed to be out next month, I think. If the WinTV-HVR-1250 is any indication that it will work, but isn't on Snapstream's list of supported tuner, then I would think it would work well too.

Re: Dual ATSC Tuner card supported?

I bought one of the FuzionHDV7 Dual Express cards. It works on tuner 1 to record Analog. I can get the digital part to see video on OTA signals with its own software. With BeyondTV it will rarely find a signal (100% on all channels with its own software) when it does I get 91-92% on all channels. When I try to channel up or down either in the setup wizard or in BeyondTV itself it looks as if it changes but it always is on the same channel. Also not matter what channe I choose to record or watch it always brings up channel 2 (HD version. If I try to do anything with tuner 2 I get failed to create graph errors. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers numerous times.

Did you have any trouble setting yours up? Any suggestions

Re: Dual ATSC Tuner card supported?

After using a clean install of XP Pro it behaved the same way. I had a copy of Vista Home Premium I bought originally for this and hated it so I bought XP Pro so I tried it with Vista. It worked fine I didn't even have to install drivers Vista found them.

If you have XP I wouldn't recommend purchasing the FuzionHDTV7 Dual Express at this time. I could only get 1 tuner to work with the included software and I could only use the Analog tuner on BeyondTV. I am sure that better drivers will be available at some time.

If anyone has different results under XP please let us know!

Re: Dual ATSC Tuner card supported?

FYI... I queried DViCO on the status of their FusionHDTV7 Dual Express (ATSC) card as I wasn't seeing it in their product list on their web site. Below is my question (in which I included reference to Beyond TV), and below that is their answer. For what it may be worth.

My Question:
From your news announcement, the FusionHDTV7 Dual Express (ATSC) has been released and apparently is available. However, this device does not show up in your products list. Is this device really available now?

Also, I use BeyondTV. Is the FusionHDTV7 Dual Express working with Beyond TV now or will it work with BTV in the future? Anything on the status of this?

Hi.
We released this model.
I'll ask for this model to web designer again.
Maybe, Beyond TV will cehck this card in advance.
We'll contact to them in advance.
Thanks.

Re: Dual ATSC Tuner card supported?

My father purchased one of these for his server and I installed it a few weeks ago. It works flawlessly with great reception. I will probably pick one up myself at some point. One thing to note is that during the Dvico install when it asks if you'd like to install a second driver for a second card, I would recommend doing so. That's all I did and the digital tuning worked perfectly.

Re: Dual ATSC Tuner card supported?

I have the same issue where the 1st tuner works but when using the DVICO 7 Dual express, the second one just shows the same channel. I reinstalled and installed the driver twice when asked for more tuners.

Any help or will this just not work in Beyond TV for now.

Using vista and 4.8.2 Beta of Beyond TV.
