Any experience with MKV files?

I have several video files that are packaged with the MKV extension, does anyone have any experience with this?

Is it possible to make BTV use these? I have wmp working with them but BTV doesn't know how to handle them.

If you are looking for a snapstream response I think you have to put in an official ticket/request. A forum response is not guaranteed.

FYI

Re: Any experience with MKV files?

Rename the .mkv files to .avi and see what happens. This works fine in Beyond Media, so it might work in BTV.

Re: Any experience with MKV files?

If anyones still wondering, I've found you can use XviD4PSP to "strip" the mkv file to a avi file.

Just set format to avi set Video and Audio encoding to COPY and it makes an avi in about 3 mins that is playable with all features in BeyondTV except you cannot resume where you stopped for some reason.
