Hauppauge 1600 No Live or Recorded Pic

I have a PC with a

1 Hauppage PVR-250
1 Hauppage 1600

I can record and watch shows recorded or live with both tuner cards on the analog input which I am recording from an analog cable source.

But on the Digital OTA input on the 1600 I do not get a picture or sound if I watch live. I can record a show and but when I play back the show recorded on this input there also is no picture and sound. Just a black screen that looks like it is playing but nothing there.

When I run the Beyond TV setup wizard if scans and shows HD channels on the digital input of the 1600. I also get picture and sound when viewing the 1600 Digital input from the wizard. But I get nothing from within Viewscape when I try and view this input.

Any Suggestions appreciated.

go to Settings - Playback Settings - Change Preferred MPEG2 Decoder to SnapStream Video/SP Decoder or an alternative.

Re: Hauppauge 1600 No Live or Recorded Pic

Will try it.

Since the orginal posting. I was able to get some HD channels to come in but now I have a different problem. I can see some of the channels but they only cover about 1/4 of the screen (upper left hand corner) and the audio stutters the whole time. I can also record when the picture is only about 1/4 of the screen. The recorded show will have the same audio stutters as when I watching the LIVE TV.

Those are similar results (the small viewing area and slow response) to what I saw when I first installed the same card. I suggest that you check out the postings in the thread "Hauppauge HVP-1600 Preferred Recording Format Questions" to see what might apply.
