newbie crashes

I just installed BTV 4.71 and after 30 seconds or so I am getting a hard crash on Win2000 Pro after selecting Live TV....I can run WinTV2000 (have a Hauppauge 350 installed) without any problem and can record via WinTV2000. But each time I run Live TV on BTV I get the crash after 30 seconds.
I am running an AMD Sempron 3200 as a CPU, have 1MB of memory, use a GeForce 7300 512MB AGP video card, use a Hauppauge 350 tuner card and run Win2000 Pro operating system.
All is well capturing and recording from my DirectTV sat receiver when using the Hauppauge WinTV2000 software but with the same hardware config consistently get the hard crash when running BTV.
I have uninstalled BTV and downloaded a new copy and installed it again....still get the hard crashes.
I must be missing something or have not yet done something.....it appears most all of you are running BTV without this kind of a problem.....what should I do to isolate or fix this problem.....I did send in a ticket last night and am waiting for an input from that end.....but in the meantime, would appreciate comments.

Re: newbie crashes

I stumbled across the solution to my crashes....I went into Advanced Settings and changed the video decoder setings to Snapstream Basic Decoder and my problem went away....is there something to tell the user what video decoder should be selected.....but anyhow everything is working right now.
I do have another question....how do I 'view' the BTV log file....dont seem to see it anywhere....I have logging enabled...but how to I select viewing it......
Nice to see BTV run so stable.....maybe I wont need to view the log

Re: newbie crashes

I've never experienced your problems on W2K, maybe it's a video driver issue? Anyway, you can view the log in the Web Admin. Info here under "For Advanced Users" http://www.snapstream.com//support/b...ile/index.html
