onboard graphics?

Are there any motherboards with onboard graphics that can run BTV Link fine? HD or SD?

Just trying to minimize the pain in the wallet for a BTV Link System.

The FAQ states Video Card:
 •
nVidia GeForce 2 and above
ATI Graphics Radeon 7500 and above
 • Others with 16 MB RAM, 3D Acceleration, DirectX 9.0 compatibility (1)
But I dont know how that translates into the onboard graphics cards.

Thanks!

Re: onboard graphics?

I've used an Asus M2A-VM HDMI micro atx board with great success in a small form factor htpc for HD viewing. I believe it has an 1250 Radeon.

Re: onboard graphics?

I'm using an ASUS P1-AH2 barebones PC as a BTV link box. It has GeForce 6150 onboard graphics with composite, S-video, VGA and DVI outputs. I use a DVI to HDMI cable to connect to my HD set at 720P. I get clear, stutter-free HD video, both live TV and recorded.

Re: onboard graphics?

Same as Walt, M2AVM-HDMIbut I had fun getting it to run. Very picky with RAM and I had to RMA the first board. On the Asus website, there were/are lots of issues with respect to RAM and sound. But after I got the board sorted out, it works really well. FWIW, I don't use the HDMI card I get the same performance (including sound) with the onboard DVI via DVI>HDMI cable. So If I were doing it again I would get the M2AVM (without the HDMI) board as it is a few bucks cheaper.

Gygabyte also makes a similar 690 chipset board and it has good reviews so you might have a look at it.
