Best Place to Buy HDHR
I've decided to get a HDHomeRun, and now I am trying to find the best place to buy it. Here are three with free shipping, and the same $169 price:
http://www.cyberestore.com/hdhomerun...ner-p-508.html http://www.dvrupgrade.com/dvr/stores/1/hdhomerun.cfm http://mythic.tv/product_info.php?products_id=72 Although it seems like a good product, I'd like the option of returning it for a full refund. Anyone have experience returning an HDHR or anything else to MythTV, DVRUpgrade, or CyberStore? If there is another place with free shipping and a full-refund return policy for the HDHR, I'd love to hear about it. Thanks. |

Re: Best Place to Buy HDHR
Are you excluding buying it from snapstream for some reason? I think they offer a refund, minus shipping, don't they?
I got their BTV+FireFly(mini in my case)+HDHR+Free Shipping for $200, which seems like a good deal vs. $169.99 from the other places if you don't already have a FireFly remote and have use for a BTV license (e.g. giving it to a friend?). The way I look at it, I got the HDHR and a generally useful remote for $200, and got BTV for free. So even if I switch to some other DVR software, I haven't really lost anything since I can continue to use both the HDHR and the FireFly mini. Last edited by vidiot1985; 01-28-2008 at 03:47 PM. |

Re: Best Place to Buy HDHR
I recently purchased mine from dvrupgrade.com. They shipped same day, and when the package didn't show up the next business day in the tracking system, they were very quick to declare the package lost, and overnight a replacement. (seems DHL lost my first package after they picked up from their distribution center).
Of course, if you can bundle it with BTV for $199. That's a pretty good deal versus buying the HDHR alone. You'll be pleased with the HDHR - I love mine tuning QAM locals off my cable.
