Been almost a year... New rig, and everything.

Well, built a whole new HTPC/Gaming PC combo recently, and would like to know if Beyond TV 4 would support the HVR-1800 at all, via Win XP Pro SP2C. I'm probably gonna use XP Pro for Beyond Media, TV, and Firefly, and have Vista Ultimate for Media Center, and split things up between them. Wonder how well this dual-boot of mine will handle. Should I even attempt to upgrade to BTV 4.7 on the XP side, or would Vista MCE be sufficient?

EDIT: Oh yeah, and I'm wondering if the HDTV recordings would be PS3 compatible to play them back on my HDTV at all... I know that WinTV 6 recordings cause trouble with PS3 encoding requirements. Sorry, but ever since the old BTV 3.5 days, things haven't been the same with all the leaps in tech since then.

HD we don't technically support the card, but a few members have said it works fine, it's just the PCI-E cousin of the HVR-1600 which we do support, so it should work fine.

as far as PS3 compatibility, we don't support it natively, but since the PS3 does support divx and h.264, I believe it should work fine.

I recently built a new HD PVR using the 1800 with BeyondTV 4.7. The card works fine. I had no problems in setting up the 1800.

The HVR-1800 will work just fine. It does not support closed caption tho and this is confirmed with Hauppauge so I have to keep using the HVR-1600 to get the CC.

Re: Been almost a year... New rig, and everything.

Ahh, okay... The reason I chose the 1800 vs. the 1600 was with the faster connection, as well as better compatibility with the 64-bit OS and Vista MCE. However, for x32, I guess that this would probably do better in BTV and XP Pro. Seems rather decent. Of course, I don't even know if Hauppauge even does support x64 yet, let alone Vista x32 (which my x32 OS is XP Pro, look through my specs).
