Guide is off by 1 hour

Getting something unusual. My guide is off by 1 hour. My system clock is correct. Beyond TV has the yellow time marker on the correct time, but the shows are all 1 hour early. As my guide updates, I get an error:

Your system time, time zone, or automatic daylight savings adjustment option may be set incorrectly. The SnapStream.Net servers reported the time as 10/29/2007 8:17:50 PM, but your system time is set to 10/29/2007 9:17:32 PM.

Well it is 9:17:32. The admin wb guide comes out correct. How is beyond tv getting 8:17 then?

I havn't used my system in a while (moved) and day light saving was not automatically updated when I booted the system. I had to do it manually. Could that be related?

much thanks!

Umm.. DST hasn't hit yet, it will get set this coming weekend (First weekend in November). All my shows have recorded just fine.

Re: Guide is off by 1 hour

Its a guess if this was related to day light savings time. Its been this way for a while. I'm confussed why the web guide is correct and beyond tv is wrong.

Re: Guide is off by 1 hour

Did you move to a different time zone? Is there a checkmark to automatically adjust for daylight savings time for your computer system?

Re: Guide is off by 1 hour

If you didn't apply the DST patch last year your system would have changed this past weekend. It would have been the correct weekend if they hadn't push it forward one week last year...First Sunday in November is the new day to change.

Re: Guide is off by 1 hour

My computer adjusted for DST automatically, so I put it back to the correct time.

But the guide data is 1 hour early, so all my shows were recording one hour early.

I had to put the computer back to the incorrect time.

Seems snapstream servers also incorrectly adjusted for DST one week early here.

NOPE!!! You need to apply the DST patch, if you didn't do it last year or you have done an image restore that predates the patch.

By simply changing the time, you are not changing the time zone offset or the DST offset. You need to correctly adjust these offsets or it will not work. Simply changing the clock is not a solution. You need to either patch your machine, go through the manual registry edits to adjust the DST information, or find a timezone that makes the time zone offset + DST offset be equal to the correct value (and then remember that this will be wrong again when the old DST switch date hits).

Not true - all of my recordings are being scheduled just fine. Something is up on your local PC

Re: Guide is off by 1 hour

Calm down everyone. This happens every spring and every fall. The shows after Saturday night will show incorrectly, but once the time change hits, they'll all fall into place and record properly. We'll have a wave of these posts for the next week or so.

We always do.

Worse this year because of the change in DST start and end dates.
Once again to re-iterate a previous poster, if your PC is not properly patched for the altered DST start and end dates, you won't be agreeing with the Snapstream servers because their DST end date is correct.

Re: Guide is off by 1 hour

But it is working as expected. Times after the change will always be listed off an hour. That's just the way it is. Doesn't have anything to do with patching or anything else. It will corrected itself Saturday night.

Re: Guide is off by 1 hour

tscales,

I think you've read something wrong...

The OP's time fell back 1 hour this past weekend instead of this coming weekend. Only reason is the PC is not patched.

Re: Guide is off by 1 hour

I learned this the hard way. My system crashed last week and I was in the process of re-installing everything. I'm on dialup and my updates(including the DST patch) started saturday night. Only at 45% sunday morning and I had to leave town on business. I noticed my time changed and had to scramble to figure out how to fix this. I tried putting the computer clock back 1 hour but that didn't work. I had to change my time zone from pacific to mountain to resolve the issue until I get home again to finish the install. At least all my recordings for this week will work.
