.xml files

There seems to br two different formats of .xml files. The kind made by beyond TV that when viewed by quick view plus is all nuls. But when view as a hex dump shows that maybe every other character is an ascii character. Then there is the kind of file that is all ascii? Does anybody know what the difference is?

Thanks
RAC

Re : .xml files

You can load the .xml files in a web browser or in some programming editor like Visual Studio...

Re: .xml files

XML is just text. Similar to HTML.

Re: .xml files

SSWingle that not alsways true. The upcomingrecordings.xml file is a binary file. It consists of 2 bytes of data one byte null and the next byte an ascii character.

I agree some files are text but not all.

Re: .xml files

That is one of the various unicode text encoding schemes (2-bytes per character). It is still text.

Any decent text editor should detect the text encoding and display things correctly.
