Keeping history when reloading

I reloaded my DVR OS shortly after I first set it up. After reinstalling BTV, it recorded episodes I had recorded before the reload. Now I want to reload the system again, but I've been going for quite some time and want BTW to know which episodes it has already recorded. I suspect that its in some file(s) somewhere that I just need to backup and copy in after the reload, but I'm not sure.

Re: Keeping history when reloading

Backup and restore from the help about menu of BTV. Your jobs and your history are part of the info backed up.

Re: Keeping history when reloading

What version are you running. On every version for awhile, there are backup and restore buttons under that.

Re: Keeping history when reloading

Do it from the tray icon on your BTV machine.

Right click the icon. Pick "about". You should see the backup and restore buttons.

If not then try rebooting it and if still not then contact snapstream I guess.
Or just backup the snapstream dir somewhere. I'm sure they will want you to reinstall but since thats why you want the info in the first place.....

The path your interested in is
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SnapStream\Beyond TV

RecentRecordings.xml is your history.
Jobs.xml is your joblist.

I'd just copy everything somewhere and then after you reinstall you can copy the key files back so you don't have to reenter everything.
