Feature req: better guide navigation

It just seems like the guide navigation can be improved. I'm felling "constrained" since the highlighted show HAS TO BE in the middle of the screen, all the way to the left.

In the case where a show goes slightly over the normal time (ex: 9:00-10:02pm), when I have that show highlighted and I scroll so the schedule shows 10pm & later, I can't even see what I'm highlighting anymore.

I wish I could freely move which show I'm highlighting without the whole schedule move. Only if I move outside the time-range shown, then the whole schedule would move in 30 mins increment.
Another wish would be it could detect how many channels I have and it wouldn't scroll if it's showing all the channels available. For example, I only use BTV to record HD shows, and I only have 7 HD channels. So I can see all of my channels since I set the row shown to 7. I wish the guide doesn't scroll around since I can see all anyways.

I downloaded a trial copy of SageTV and I like their guide navigation much better. But not enough to switch

I second the suggestions here for improving the guide navigation, especially the non-scrolling if not required for the number of channels in your guide.

If SageTV has a better guide, use it as a template for improving the guide in BeyondTV.

I love BeyondTV but the guide navigation in BTV absolutly needs to improve.
