Clipping Mode?

I'm working on my own personalized keyboard mapping cheat sheet for Beyond TV and noticed something in the Beyond TV help files that talks about "clipping mode". The help document says that Z,X,C,V or B keys all start BTV "clipping mode" where you can set a start marker or end clip marker etc.

Anyone know what this really does? Is clipping making a separate video clip from a recorded show?

Re: Clipping Mode?

That was for the 4.7 Enterprise edition, not sure if it's supposed to be available for the future regular 4.7.1 release...

They have it listed on the main BTV keyboard mappings page in the help files so that's why I was curious. So it makes video clips? That would be useful to my teacher-wife. I'm guessing you could make video clips and then you could make a DVD from the clips using the DVD-burning plugin. It wouldn't be the most professional-looking DVD in the world, but it could be useful for some folks.

Yes that's its purpose.

Well, in principle converting that to fine tune the smartchapters is like a 15 minutes programming job, but we know how long it takes for those simple things to make it in actual releases...

Re: Clipping Mode?

For those of you interested, the most up-to-date keyboard mapping that includes the clipping commands is
Here:
http://www.snapstream.com/support/be...ile/index.html

The older one is here:
http://www.snapstream.com/Support/He...dshortcuts.htm

I'm not sure why its in two places and I'm really not sure why there are two different keyboardshortcut files...

Either way, I'm making a PDF in my own preferred format that I'll share with you when I'm done.

Re: Clipping Mode?

The clipping keys will do nothing. You're looking at documentation on the beta build that has not been updated. Clipping is not a part of the consumer release. The help file will be updated before the official release of 4.7.1.

oops. Sorry about that. Just got confused when I saw it on the publicly available help document on the snapstream.com site.
