Recording in Progress Notification

hi,

I would like to request a Recording in Progress, if a shutdown is requested while a recording is in progress.... notification with an option to stop the shutdown.

Last week I was using the HTPC (remotely...) and had to do a reboot... without thinking/checking the taskbar (which is really small at high res)... I went ahead... and then later realised that a recording was in progress.

Even maybe disabling the shutdown from the Start menu or something.. would work.. cus that would make the user think why its disabled...

Thanks

Re: Recording in Progress Notification

Hmm. On my system, BTV throws a warning message if I try to shut it down!

Re: Recording in Progress Notification

HomeyFour, ur sig says ur running a BTV BETA .. maybe its added already.

But just to be sure .. I'm not shutting down Beyond TV... well not directly at least... I'm doing a Windows shutdown (Start -> Shutdown)... and I want to be notified if there is a recording.. or disable that option.. either way would work for me.

Yes BTV will warn you if you shut it down. You get no warning if you shut down windows. Not sure what BTV can do to stop a windows shutdown. I also imagine it would have to be an option, because I am sure for every person that would want it to stop a windows shutdown there would be one that would not.

Re: Recording in Progress Notification

Terminal ... why would anyone want to do shutdown while a recording is in progress ? that would be wreck ur recording.

Like I said maybe have a config parameter to disable (grey) out the shutdown option (Start -> Shutdown) or change it to BTV RECORDING !

I don't think that anybody would want to shut down while a recording is in progress, which is why I use Web Admin to check if there are any recordings in process, or any showsqueeze jobs in process before I shut down/restart.

Re: Recording in Progress Notification

Thanks nanaook105.. I usually check the taskbar little icon to see if there is a red dot... but alas this this time I forgot... which is why I thought I'd start this thread.
