Dual HDTV Cards

I have started to do some research for dual tuner hd cards. Is anyone using a dual hd tuner card? If so does it work well and what brand and model are you using? My pci slots are full with 2 pvr 500's and 2 fusion golds and I am trying to decide if I want to use a dual hd tuner card or get a usb fusion gold tuner. Has anyone had trouble with the usb fusion gold? Does it work as good as the pci fusion gold cards?
Thanks
Wayne

The HDHomeRun is a dual tuner network device so it doesn't even take up a slot. They sell it in the SnapStream Store

It looks like to me that this is for cable, unless I missed it in my reading that it will work on OTA HD

Re: Dual HDTV Cards

So after reviewing the setup that is listed here http://blogs.snapstream.com/2007/05/...eam-beyond-tv/ this looks to be pretty involved and at the bottom there are a few post about not working properly. Anyone got more info on setting one of these up? I like the 2 tuner package but I am wondering about the setup and stability. Pro's or con's anyone else? What about the USB fusion setup? Is it like the pci cards?

Re: Dual HDTV Cards

Those steps are if you are using the HDHR to record unencrypted QAM channels from cable.

Although I haven't tried it, supposedly the setup for the HDHR in ATSC mode is the same as any other tuner.

And FWIW I compared the ATSC sensitivity of one of my HDHR's with my two ATSC capture cards and it compared favorably to my Fusion card, which is supposed to be one of the better ones.

Re: Dual HDTV Cards

I thought I would post an update. I got the silicone dust hdhomerun tuner. Unboxed it and there are no instructions in the box. So I went to the silicone dust website and found the instructions there on how to set up for digital antenna setup and downloaded the file and installed it and then ran the setup wizard and added the 2 tunners. Piece of cake Here is the amazing thing is that with all 8 tuners recording I was only using about 16% cpu, But when I looked at network traffic thru windows task manager, the 2 silicone dust tuners were using about 43% of the network on a 100 mb connection. But all is well and I am happy

Re: Dual HDTV Cards

No I had not seen that post yet. But after reading it, I could do the same thing as my motherboard has 2 on board ethernet ports. When I get some time again I think I will try to switch it over and take the load off of the network.
