Problem With live TV

I recently bought Beyond TV and love it. But on my system I am having issues with watching live tv. It takes forever to bring up live TV. Then when it does it seems laggy and sometimes freezes up. My CPU ussage is maxed out at 100%. That is only on live tv. It records tv and plays back really good. (My CPU ussage is around 75%-85%) My computer specs are listed below. I was wondering if there are some settings or something adjust so that I can play live tv.

Dell 4400 P4 2.0ghz, 1gb DDR PC2100 memory, Geforce 5600 AGP 256mb video card, ATI TV wonder tv tuner. Windows XP home

If anyone has any suggstions please help me. I dont have anything but Beyond TV loaded on this computer. So I figured it should be able to play back fine. Do I need to upgrade my Processor?

The ATI card you use must be a software encoder, I am assuming this because of the CPU usage while recording. A hardware encoder would typically use less than 10%. You are going to have trouble playing back and recording at the same time if it is a software encoder. Your system specs would be fine if you had a hardware encoder. Your system is more powerful than mine( See sig) and I run 3 tuners and can watch a recording while all three are in use. My tuners are hardware encoders so they use very little CPU while recording. If you get a hardware encoder you should have no problems.
