Adaptec dual tuner

The Adaptec dual tuner stipulates as supported only by MCE. Can someone tell me if, in fact, it works just as well under XP Pro and Beyond TV? Thanks,
Mark

Re: Adaptec dual tuner

But the IR Blaster will probably not work right out of the box. I think that it's an MCE IR Blaster so third party app's cannot add direct support. That's why Adaptec lists only MCE in their marketing materials. So if you need an IR Blaster, keep this in mind.

Re: Adaptec dual tuner

The remote control function will work under Windows XP SP with BTV though. It worked on mine.

I'm using two of these currently with Windows Home Server and BTV for four tuner goodness. Works great.

I have a couple of these avc-3610s and a year ago I had 2 of them working just fine with my basic cable. i packed thigns up and then decided to bust them out again to do the dvr thing and now they cant receive a signal. I'm using them on a 478 processor with enough memory and i tried both versions of the drivers. I use win xp pro. all i get is channel 6 here and it comes in half way and thats from the cable line. the cable works with all the other tvs in the house and each time i tested this with the computer it came out the same. I got a power supply rated fo rthe avc and even got a booster for the cable but its the same results. do you have any ideas on what it could be?

Re: Adaptec dual tuner

I use 3 of them and they work fine. The only downfall is that they have a fixed recording bit rate which is about 3GB per hour.

Re: Adaptec dual tuner

Anyone had any issues with these like the recording volume being much lower than other tuners?
