FAT 32 was issue-reformatted-still need help

Hello. Several people responded to point me in the right direction. I really thank you for that. My exteranl hard drive was indeed FAT32. I reformatted the drive to NTFS, but apparently there was something (I think the download application on this drive) because while the formatting was taking place BTV stopped responding. I have restarted the computer, uninstalled BTV, then tried to Run the istallation application. It keeps telling me that the current build is already on the computer!!! What in the world is going on. I really thought I was on my way to solving my other issue,now I can't get BTV installed. Does anyone know what this particular compter LIT means??
