Does Beyond TV expire?

Hi. After a lot of thought, I've decided to get my cable TV disconnected for a while. TV sucks pretty bad right now, content-wise, and there really isn't anything I want to watch that's worth what I'm paying now for the cable TV. I figure I might get it reconnected in January when Lost returns, which leads me to my question. If I uninstall my current version of Beyond TV, if I choose to re-install it in January, or even a year from now, in September 08, will I have any problems? I assume I probably will have to pay if 5.0 comes out between now and then, but will I be able to get the final 4.whatever version you're up to by then, if there is a 5.0 that supersedes it? I just don't want to be stuck with a useless license when my TV tastes return.

Re: Does Beyond TV expire?

you get free updates for whatver version you buy

after the next version is released, yours will still work. you just won't be able to download the next point release until you pay to upgrade.

trial licenses and beta versions will expire

Re: Does Beyond TV expire?

Of course, you could choose to keep BTV and go the free TV route with OTA digital. I've found that as long as I have enough shows recorded at all times, I don't really miss anything on cable.

Here's Zack's article on going free:
