Video problems in recording and watching live tv

i have been having some problems recording live tv as it will record the sound, but not the video in color or anything recognizable. it will record the video as one solid stream of gray. watching live tv tells me that it cannot display the tv and that i need to try rerunning setup wizard. the problem with the setup wizard is that when i get to the test phase it will slow down my computer and not allow me to change the channel. if i do a control alt delete twice, then it will close out the setup wizard.

i am using xp pro sp2, adstech hdtv pci card with btv version 4.6 (latest version)

I can possibly help you with the gray video.
I had the same problem with this card. However, it would run the setup with no problem.
If the gray is from the analog tuner, try this:
From WebAdmin, go to Settings, Audio & Video inputs.
For the analog card, edit the settings.
Drop down and select Show More Options.
Adjust the saturation and contrast controls up to 75% for a start.
Reboot the PC and see how it looks.

As far as the live tv not working, that is probably video drivers.
Check the log in the WebAdmin and see what it is saying.
What video card and driver version are you using?
