Dell GX620 USFF - HD frontend AND back?
Has anybody tried a Dell GX620 USFF as an HD frontend AND backend (tscales perhaps)? Word is they make great frontends - but does anyone know if that little GMA 950 can handle playback off their own HDDs, or for that matter recording a stream or two while playing back?
Typical GX620 specs FYI: 3GHz Pentium 4 531 512MB PC4300 RAM 80GB hard disk Intel GMA 950 graphics These little suckers look great and are quiet - I'm wondering if you couldn't add an HVR 950 (or two?) or an HD HomeRun, and a big USB HDD for video and get a slick little recording/playback solution. Has anybody tried this? I'd be curious to hear how it faired. As a related digression, I'm also wondering if anyone has found that the HD HomeRun, with it's ethernet interface, has worked any better than USB (or PCI) tuners on systems that are a little underpowered. (Is it easier to write to HDD from network adapter than USB?) Pete
