One computer with Vista and XP. Legal to install Beyond TV on both OS?
I have a single computer dual booting Vista Business (no Media Center) and XP. I use either OS depending on the tasks. Is it legal for me to install Beyond TV on both OS? The EULA states that:
" Grant of License: Subject to the terms and conditions of this Agreement, SnapStream hereby grants you a limited, non-exclusive license to install and use the object code version of the Software, a copy of which is provided herewith, on a single personal computer for personal, non-commercial, and otherwise lawful purposes." Since it mentions that the program can only be installed on a "single personal computer", I'll take that it should be okay. |

I think you're fine. I doubt any manufacturer would beat you up for a dual boot scenario when a new OS comes out.
Interestingly, if the version of Vista you have is an upgrade, the license does NOT allow you to install it in dual boot with XP. How weird is that? Again, likely not enforced, or even what MS intended, but that is the letter of the license agreement. Tom |
