Feature Request: Record 2 shows back to back on same channel with buffer
I have only 1 tuner for my digital cable lineup and some of the shows I record are back to back on the same channel. I like to have a 2 minute buffer for each recording, but with this situation it is not possible and I sometimes cut one or the other show. So, FEATURE REQUEST, write the same stream to 2 files for the overlap.
IE: record show #1 from 8:58-9:32 and show #2 from 9:28-10:02 using only 1 tuner. Should be technically feasible. Anyone else have this issue? |

Make sure to have your PC clock synchronized every day and consider using the start/end record early/late on specific channels if needed...

Re: Feature Request: Record 2 shows back to back on same channel with buffer
I have 4 tuners total, just 1 for digital cable though. I do sync the time every night.
My main problem (sickness) is that I want a complete recording from opening to closing credits and some channels butt shows together with no commercial break. I currently lose 10-15 seconds for stopping the recording, changing the channel(to the same channel through cable box), then starting the recording. I can deal with it but I thought it was something that might be fixable by directing the recorded stream to 2 files. I am a programmer (as a profession) but do not deal with DirectX and therefore do not know the overhead involved with it. Thanks |

Re: Feature Request: Record 2 shows back to back on same channel with buffer
If two shows record back to back on the same channel it would be an improvement if BTV didn't try to change the channel to an existing one that is in the process of recording and simply started recording the second show instantly. Until they do that you could get around this by making a manual recording that spans both shows and then use something like Videoredo to cut them up into two if that is something you need.
