Beyond TV with a Hauppauge HVR 1600

Greetings,

I am trying to configure a hauppauge HVR 1600 with beyond tv 4.6, to use an SA 3200 STB, on Vista Home Premium.
I installed the drivers from hauppauge, and their driver can change channels.
Beyond TV sees the drivers and even the card, but when it tries to change channels it fails. It displays a picture from the STB connected to the SVideo port.
The Hauppauge tools had a GUI for administering channels (which it appears refers to to the ports on the card, and not the STB IR blaster channels,) and it never was able to display a picture. Beyond TV could display a picture but could not change channels.
Is there a step I am missing? The Hauppauge documentation appears to cover a version of the GUI that is now deprecated, since the interface was slightly different between the documentation and the application I installed.
I would appreciate any help anyone might be able to offer.

I believe you skipped the setup to run the BTV Setup Wixard to configure it to control your set top box.

Hello,

I actually ran the setup wizard several dozen times! When the wizard hits the page for testing the IR blaster, however, nothing happens. Beyond TV reports that it is changing the channels and I can even see the IR Blaster LED flashing as it is sending the commands. Nothing happens on the STB, though. Again, when I change channels in the Hauppauge tool, everything works. When I change channels in the Beyond TV setup tool, nothing happens. I emailed Hauppauge, and they suggested that I speak to Snapstream.

I have the EXACT same problem, only I can't even get my card to tune to s-video. The Happauge IR software can control the box, but snapstream doesn't. How did you get the s-video input to work?

I can't get SH*T to work with Vista. I had HVR-1600 working with MCE2005, the IR blaster was changing channels just fine and now, the only thing I can get to work is the card itself. The IR does not work, and my girder for my second STB does not work. I'm going to go get a MAC tomorrow!!!!

I'm also having this same issue. What's strange is I got everything working for a few days, then I played around with MCE, SageTV, and running under a non administrator account and somewhere along the line it stopped working and has the same symptoms.

The Hauppauge IR Blaster config is setup the exact same as when it was working and allows me to change channels using it's setup utility. However, in BTV, the IR will blink but nothing will actually happen.

I tried uninstalling all Hauppauge software and drivers and then reinstalled them but that didn't work. I tried deleting and readding the source in BTV, and I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling BTV, no joy.

I'm runing Vista Ultimate (32bit).

If anyone has any breakthroughs with this do share!

Edit: I'm running the latest Hauppauge drivers and BTV 4.6.1

When you uninstalled the Hauppauge drivers, did you run their hardware clear program. It along with instructions are available on their site:
