not out of the box... You can use the media center extender service that comes with MCE2005 for sharing media files but no TV/PVR functionality.

Re: Xbox 360 and BTV

Xbox 360 does not work as a media extender for BTV at all.

As posted above however, you can use it as an extender with MCE2005 to view media files only......no live TV or PVR functionality.

Re: Xbox 360 and BTV

So, it looks like i am going to be using Vista MCE as my pvr thru the xbox 360. I do have one other question though. When you schedule a recording via BTV at the pc, (mine will be connected to a directv receiver in another room), does it send a signal through the ir blaster port to tune the STB to the proper channel when the scheduled recording occurs? Thanks very much for all of your help.

Re: Xbox 360 and BTV

Assuming everything is setup properly, yes, BTV will send a signal to the STB to tune the correct channel before the recording starts.

If your DirecTV box has a serial port on the back, then BTV may be able to tune it via a serial cable, which is faster and more reliable than an IR blaster. Check the list of DirecTV boxes that will work via serial tuning:

If not, then you'll need an IR blaster for BTV to tune the channels.
