Any way around this?

I recently purchased the WinTV-PVR-150 MCE along with the Firefly remote and all and I just had a question. I had read up about how it reads and then displays causing a 2-3 second so that trying to use a console game on it doesn't really work. Just to see how bad the delay was I tried it and well, they were right. So my question is. Is the delay being caused hardware or software based? AKA: Can I possibly download a different software and use that for when i wanna game and use Beyond for when I wanna watch TV? Or is it just the way the Tuner Card works?

You MIGHT be able to use the software that came with the Hauppage card, but I don't think so.

Re: Any way around this?

I believe the WIN-TV software might work, but there will probably still be a slight delay. I guess it depends on the game as to whether that becomes a problem or not.

I am confused. Are you trying to use BTV for your entire front end?
If so it's not worth the effort. Use BTV for what it's ment to be used for and get something else to launch your game. BTV will run if you are doing something else on your PC.

both cause this problem. btv delays because of the timeshift function and the 150 delays since the signal hes to go from the tuner to the encoder to the hard disk before it can be read by software(the wintv app may be able to minimize this delay but i haven't tried it.)
