quick question before i buy

i am looking to replace my hd dtivo with something that has similar capabilities. mostly dual tuners. poking around the forums, i am still not clear if the card that comes with the package (Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-1600) will do that with just one card or do I need 2?

thanks

Robert

Re: quick question before i buy

You will not be able to record HD premium channels. Period.

The HD-1600 can do two at a time, one SD (Cable or antenna) and one HD (antenna).

It's a $$$$ issue. DRM is the fake reason. It's so they can force you to purchase or lease their DVR. It has nothing to do with anything other than a desire to line their pockets.

Re: quick question before i buy

I have 2 hvr-1600 in my htpc and can record 2 OTA HD and 2 SD cable a the sametime. You can not record digital cable or satilite tv with the atsc tuners.

It's more than capitalism -- it's collusion. MS, Cable Labs, Cable companies.....

Once someone breaks 5C, then it will all be over.
